Try this:
Draw a line down a page.
On one side, write:
In My Control
On the other:
Out of My Control
Now write down everything that’s been on your mind.
Don’t filter it.
Look at it.
Where is most of your energy going?
Be honest.
This is the shift:
The more energy you give to what you can’t control, the less you have for what actually impacts performance.
Refocus on what’s yours:
- Effort.
- Preparation.
- Body language.
- Response.
You don’t need to control everything to perform at a high level. You just need to consistently own what’s yours. Where your attention goes, your performance follows.
